How long did it take you to conceive your first little & symptoms?

Hi everybody! I’m really excited to be posting here, because my husband and I have just started our journey trying to conceive. I still have about two days before my period would normally start, but I am so convinced that I am pregnant. I just feel different, but I really want to be a mommy so I might just be setting myself up for disappointment. How long did it take you to conceive your first little and what were your symptoms? My breasts feel tender but that could be a normal premenstrual symptom that I’m just fixating on, so I’m not really sure.May 8, 2018 at 5:27 pm #3747Kiki CuylerParticipant
Oh my gosh, hun, I know exactly how you feel! It took me nearly a year to get pregnant and every month I was just convinced that I was pregnant. I took so many pregnancy tests, and it got really frustrating. I hope that it doesn’t take you as long as it took me, but don’t worry if you don’t get pregnant right away. If it’s been six months and you haven’t conceived, you might want to talk to your doctor about starting some fertility testing. I ended up using some fertility strips to help determine my most fertile days and I’m convinced that they helped me finally get pregnant. Good luck! I hope you get good news super soon!May 8, 2018 at 5:30 pm #3749Matraca BergParticipant
Some pregnancy tests give you a result even before your missed period. You might get one of those if you just can’t stand waiting. I used an early detection test, but didn’t believe it was accurate until I went to my doctor for a blood test. I wanted to know as soon as possible, so I ordered early detection pregnancy tests online in bulk because that was the cheapest option. I know not everybody is as obsessive as me, lol. I can’t say that I noticed any physical symptoms at all. Those didn’t really start until around four or five weeks. Every pregnancy is different!May 8, 2018 at 5:32 pm #3750Mamah CheneyParticipant
I knew right away because my symptoms came on fast and strong. I threw up three days before my missed period, went out and bought a test, and wow! I was pregnant! I had to have a hard conversation with my then boyfriend, because we were not trying at all to have a baby, but as soon as he saw the test, he started crying and we knew we wanted to start a family. I had some other early pregnancy symptoms too, like fatigue, mild cramping, and my cervical mucus got really thick (sorry, TMI, I know!). Mainly I was overjoyed!
