OK, time to talk about what you put in your go bags! What did you bring with you to the hospital? We’re finally getting close enough to the big day that it’s time to pack up what I need and I don’t know where to start. What will the hospital provide? What do I need to bring for me and for the baby? Should my hubby pack anything for himself or will he be able to come and go? I’m starting to get anxious that the baby will arrive early and I won’t be ready for her! Thanks in advance, ladies!

Pack snacks, snacks, and more snacks. Hospital food is terrible! Other than that, I don’t think I used much of what I packed. My birth was fairly quickly though, as I was only in labor for 4 hours. I would plan on a longer stay, especially if this is your first child. I also brought some nursing clothes, and some toiletries.

The hospital will have most of what you need, and if your birth is like mine, you might want someone on hand to go grab anything that might be helpful. The best thing we packed was a tennis ball which my husband used to massage my back during labor. It really helped!

I used a list I found on the internet and really didn’t get into my bag at all. I wanted lotion and chapstick, and comfy clothes to go home in. The most important item is the car seat. Make sure that you get that properly installed and you know how to use it before the big day. Our hospital had a clinic where they checked to make sure that ours was installed correctly.
